Solange's "True" Album
Solange's new album "True" is a refreshing collection of ballots with a feminine feel, sultry vocals, oh so sexy beats, and a few tracks with a flare for the wild side. It doesn't get any sexier than that!
My favorite ballot is entitled "Locked in Closets'" where she talks of locking herself away, feeling sad and alone, still wanting to live out her childhood dreams of love, and sad from not being able to share her special treasures. :) My second favorite ballot is entitled, "Don't Let Me Down," where she talks about lovers "representin" for each other. My third favorite track from the album is entitled "Look Good with Trouble," where she melody's about, no doubt, a crush on a "bad boy," who makes her want to give into her "bad" side with him. Who hasn't been there? And, my fourth favorite ballot from the album entitled "Some Things Never Seem to Fu**ing Work," is about when you think you've finally found love, but it doesn't work out. LOL. The realness of this song, just makes you laugh, because it's so...true, that all you can do is laugh.
Though these four tracks are my most favorite, her other three ballots are not without merit. For instance, her track entitled, "Losing You" shows the vulnerable side of being in love, when you feel like the person you love is slowly fading away...and there's nothing you can do about it... In the sexy ballot "Bad Girl," she grieves about the bad ways of dealing with her pain, and pulling her lover into her hurricane of hurt, along with her. Rather you can relate to this track, or not, you will definitely find yourself dancing to its hypnotic beat. And, lastly, the track entitled, "Lovers in The Parking Lot" is my least favorite, not because the vocals aren't great and the beat isn't good; it just hits too close to home. :(
In this album, Solange beautifully displays her feminine wiles, while staying true to her "true" nature, and allowing us to relax into hearty bass beats. Listening to the ballots, while watching YouTube's collection of the artists live performances only adds to the sexy, as we get to take a firsthand look at the artist's sexy, fun swagger! "True" is an album that you can throw in the player and listen to whenever you need to recapture or reinforce your "true" femininity. I can't wait to prepare candlelight gourmet meals to it!
None of her previous albums have left Solange without her own identity, setting her apart as a woman all her own, but this one definitely shows a sexier, more mature side of her. In this album, the artist showcases a beautiful range of talent and vocals, letting us know she is definitely winning for the team too!
Love it!
