Beauty is Power!

Beauty...why is it that some people have it and some people don't?  What is it about beauty that's so intimidating? How do you know when you've reached the beauty mark?  What does it take to reach the beauty mark?  Why is it the older you get, the farther away beauty gets?

It's clear that beauty is power, but to get what...other people's mate..a lot of mates...trinkets, riches, fortune, fame, glam our..? Would it anger you to know that I was beautiful..beautiful within, and that instead of using it to obtain trinkets, fame, fortune, to tear down, and riches, I chose to use it to spread love, to uplift, to build, to heal, to inspire, to nurture, to protect, to honor, to respect, to cherish, and to bless? Would you think that I was beautiful?  Would I still have to be so perfect? Would you say that I reached the mark? Would you say that I was powerful?  Would I still have to compete for your attention?  Would I still have to fight for your love?  What if I told you that real beauty is how you choose to use it? Would you agree?

Baci Italian Chocolate

Ciao (hello in Italian), Everyone!

With Mother's Day coming up, I thought this would be the perfect time to introduce you to my new favorite chocolate!  This chocolate is my favorite, not only because it blends three of my most favorite ingredients in the whole world: Italian, dark chocolate, and hazelnuts (pine nuts and dark chocolate would've been great too), but because it's the most creamiest, richest, sensual, melt in your mouth chocolate I have ever tasted in my life!  And, on top of that, if you've ever wanted to learn the romantic, Italian language of  love, to speak to your sweetie :), each kiss contains a secret love note written in Italian, and then translated into English, to help you with that!

Baci, which means kisses in Italian, originated from the story of a maiden confectioner from Perugina, who fell  in love with a heir.  Legend has it that she would make her delicious, sweet treats and send them to him, wrapped in a love note.  Now, you can create your own romantic, love affair by sending your sweetie these silky, sweet, chocolate kisses, each wrapped in an Italian love note.  And, I must say, if their chemistry was anything like the sweet, tender, comfort of this chocolate; I'd look forward to it, everyday!  I can't wait to get my mother some for Mother's Day, hopefully you'll do the same!

 Enjoy!

Solange's "True" Album

Solange's new album "True" is a refreshing collection of ballots with a feminine feel, sultry vocals, oh so sexy beats, and a few tracks with a flare for the wild side. It doesn't get any sexier than that!

My favorite ballot is entitled "Locked in Closets'" where she talks of locking herself away, feeling sad and alone, still wanting to live out her childhood dreams of love, and sad from not being able to share her special treasures. :)  My second favorite ballot is entitled, "Don't Let Me Down," where she talks about lovers "representin" for each other. My third favorite track from the album is entitled "Look Good with Trouble," where she melody's about, no doubt, a crush on a "bad boy," who makes her want to give into her "bad" side with him. Who hasn't been there? And, my fourth favorite ballot from the album entitled "Some Things Never Seem to Fu**ing Work," is about when you think you've finally found love, but it doesn't work out.  LOL. The realness of this song, just makes you laugh, because it's so...true, that all you can do is laugh.

Though these four tracks are my most favorite, her other three ballots are not without merit.  For instance, her track entitled, "Losing You" shows the vulnerable side of being in love, when you feel like the person you love is slowly fading away...and there's nothing you can do about it... In  the sexy ballot "Bad Girl," she grieves about the bad ways of dealing with her pain, and pulling her lover into her hurricane of hurt, along with her. Rather you can relate to this track, or not, you will definitely find yourself dancing to its hypnotic beat.  And, lastly, the track entitled, "Lovers in The Parking Lot" is my least favorite, not because the vocals aren't great and the beat isn't good; it just hits too close to home. :(

In this album, Solange beautifully displays her feminine wiles, while staying true to her "true" nature, and allowing us to relax into hearty bass beats.  Listening to the ballots, while watching YouTube's collection of the artists live performances only adds to the sexy, as we get to take a firsthand look at the artist's sexy, fun swagger! "True" is an album that you can throw in the player and listen to whenever you need to recapture or reinforce your "true" femininity. I can't wait to prepare candlelight gourmet meals to it!

None of her previous albums have left Solange without her own identity, setting her apart as a woman all her own, but this one definitely shows a sexier, more mature side of her. In this album, the artist showcases a beautiful range of talent and vocals, letting us know she is definitely winning for the team too!

Love it!

Parliamo Italiano! (Let's Talk Italian!)

BRock

So...I've been watching my share of cooking shows lately, and the last couple of shows I've watched, showed various different cooks dumping various different Italian herbs into their Italian dishes.  As I sat and watched, I couldn't help but wonder what each herb tastes like, what its contribution was to the dish, and why the chef chose that particular combination?

Today I made my favorite homemade marinara sauce, and as I added the basil, I couldn't help but be reminded of the various Italian herbs I'd seen the other cooks use. It was at that moment, I decided that those other herbs don't matter; I love basil! It is the herb for me! Basil is a warm, heady, sensuous herb, with just the right touch of Italian flavor, and it pairs great with tomatoes and fresh tomato sauce. It's even great in gelato!  Lemon basil is great too; It's good for chicken and seafood, and it smells great! I use basil as my sole herb in all my Italian recipes, even if the recipe calls for other herbs.  So, now that I've come to the conclusion that basil is my favorite Italian herb (followed by rosemary, and then  parsley), I was wondering, what's your favorite Italian herb/s/, and why?

*Watch next, for what's your favorite Italian cheese?!
